Why Should I go to Spirit Check?

Tomorrow is Spirit check after the 10:30 @12:45 service for college students to meet with Bishop Woods and Pastor Christine. But why should you even bother to go? Here are a few reasons!

1. Bishop and Pastor want to know what uE can do for YOU How many churches can you go to where you can personally speak with Bishop and First Lady? At uE, we care about the community, and college students are very precious to our Bishop and our first lady. You may be here for four more years, but it is great to know you can call uE home. Come see for yourself what we mean!

2. Fellowship– Which college students are on the same track with you? Have you ever thought to yourself, “I need better friends.”? Coming to Spirit check will allow you to see who you can connect with, and who may be on the same path to righteousness you’re on. Fellowship is NOT optional for believers, 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

If you’ve ever wondered why you can’t stay on track with God, could it be your lack of fellowship with other Christians?

3. Hebrews 10:24-25And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Word commands for us to meet with one another. This is reason enough for some people!

4. A covering you can count on We can say it all day at college connect, but come get connected and know for yourself, this is a covering you can really count on. 1 Peter 5:1-4
To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder … Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

uE has great leadership that fullfills all of the qualifications in 1 Peter 5:1-4. You can be confident you are under great guidance at uE

5. Encouragement– We go through tough times as college students. We’re constantly busy, our finances are a mess, and sometimes we struggle in class. Without encouragement, it makes things a lot harder, wouldn’t you agree? take it a step further, without GODLY encouragement, it makes things a lot harder. Anybody can pat you on the back and tell you “it will be okay,” but at uE our encouragment is based on the Rock. You’ll have promise to stand on, not a pat on the back.

Please come out! We can’t wait to see you all there!
