Walk this way, TALK THIS WAY, Sunday 10.2.11

If you missed Sunday service again – you missed Part 3 of the “Walk this Way, – TALK  this way” biblical teaching series on FAITH. All month Bishop has been teaching us about what God requires of us to grow stronger in our relationships with him. Upon receiving salvation you gain access to the Kingdom of God and a critical tool you  must sharpen is your FAITH. Bishop took us through the bible mapping out what FAITH is and the power it grants us as Kings Kids!

Hebrews 11: 3-7

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

Definition of faith: Faith is confident obedience to God’s Word despite of circumstance or confidence.

“Your environment is not going to change until you speak it.” – Bishop Woods

2 Corinthians 5:7

7 For we live by faith, not by sight.

Your faith should:

1. Move the Master (God)

2. Move mountains.

3. Move man.

“You have to speak up!” – Bishop Woods

“You have not spoken to your mountain until it has grown legs.” – Bishop Woods

“The blessing is in your mouth.” – Bishop

Six Essentials elements of Faith

1. Faith is believing when I don’t see it.

2. Faith is Obeying even when you don’t understand it.

3. Faith is Giving even when I don’t have it.

4. Faith is Persisting even when I don’t feel like it.

5. Faith is thanking even when I haven’t received it.

6. Faith is trusting even when I don’t get it.

Matthew 8:23-27

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

“To see what you can’t see, you must say what you must say.” – Bishop

Proverbs 18:21

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Romans 4:17

17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
